Ernest Hemingway 1899 - 1961

Fans of Ernest Hemingway know of the Big Tw0-Hearted and Fox Rivers in Michigan's Upper Peninsula from reading his "Nick Adams" stories, many of which involve trout fishing. As a boy, Hemingway honed his skill at fly fishing for trout on the renowned AuSable River, and fishing remained a touchstone is his life wherever his travels led him. Pictured here are Hemingway's Hardy Bros. 8 foot 6 inch, 3 piece "Fairy Rod" (1939) and his "McGinty Bee" fly.
