Handmade ©2006 Diptych View Larger “It’s like this: You are in a restaurant.
You’re not sure if you want apple or pecan pie. The
waitress comes to the table and you say, “Apple”. What
you really want is pecan, but you’re afraid of the calories.
She leaves, and just as she is about to swing through the
doors of the kitchen, you scream, “Pecan!” She looks at
you, as if to say, “Are you sure?” and you say, “Oh,
no... just bring me the apple.” She brings you the
apple pie and you look at it unhappily. “I really wanted
the pecan.” Do this a few times and the waitress will
stop coming to your table, and the universe, well, the
universe will bring you everything you ask for and you
will wonder why you never get what you want. “ |
